Academic STEM Tutor

Ivy Link is seeking a private tutor who specializes in advanced STEM subjects, particularly mathematics, chemistry, and biology. Candidates must demonstrate high proficiency in STEM subjects from elementary to college-level, as well as a thorough knowledge of the curricula used in different schools (Common Core, Exeter Math, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Customize tutoring plans for each student based on their specific needs

  • Adapt tutoring plan based on a student’s progress and grades or score reports, and proactively engage with the student to identify additional areas/subjects in which they need improvement

  • Coordinate regular tutoring sessions with students and adhere to the agreed-upon schedule

  • Submit tutoring reports within 24 hours of each session, providing a summary of the session and the student’s progress, as well as assigned homework

  • Respond to all correspondence from students, parents, and Ivy Link managers within 24 hours of receipt

Qualifications
Candidates should have: (1) a demonstrated aptitude for teaching in a one-on-one setting; (2) maturity, superb organization skills, and excellent phone/email manners; (3) at minimum, a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree (but we will consider undergraduate students who are exceptional).

Clearly state (1) each subject and standardized that you are able to tutor; (2) the level of instruction you are able to provide (e.g., high school or middle school level); (3) your grades and standardized test scores in the relevant subjects (e.g., A’s in Calculus, 780 on Chemistry SAT Subject Test, and 5 on AP Biology); and (4) teaching experience in the relevant subject or standardized test.


Undergraduate College Admissions Advisor

Ivy Link is seeking an experienced college admissions counselor to guide students and families through the college admissions process, as well as manage individual projects relating to college admissions. Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in and strategic knowledge of current admissions standards and academic and other offerings, particularly with respect to colleges in the United States. Importantly, Ivy Link has long recognized that each of our students has unique academic and personal qualities that call for custom-tailored solutions and advice. Accordingly, we seek a counselor who values our students individually and can apply bespoke counseling that is inspiring and innovative. This position comes with the potential to grow into more senior roles at Ivy Link.

Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate: (1) superb communication skills, especially in writing and editing; (2) strong aptitude for research and creative problem-solving; (3) attention to detail, coupled with excellent organization and planning abilities; and (4) at minimum, a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.

Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years experience working in at least one of the following areas: (1) an undergraduate admissions office of a selective U.S. college; (2) college counseling office at a selective high school; and/or (3) advising international students or recruited athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with students in grades 8 - 12 to craft comprehensive and bespoke admissions strategies

  • Regularly meet with assigned students and provide progress reports to parents

  • Coach students through independent projects and extra-curricular development

  • Mentor students in developing and/or improving executive skills such as organization, research, and time management

  • Work with students through the brainstorm and editing processes for internship, scholarship, and college application essays

  • Conduct research to stay current with admissions trends among top U.S. colleges

  • Assist with the upkeep of admissions-related databases, including but not limited to academic contests and awards, summer programs, and internships
