Learn to Make a Massive Impact in One Critical Area
Plus, the impact of COVID-19 on college admissions.
Colleges evaluate a student's records starting from 9th grade. A former Columbia admissions reader will share insights into how colleges really evaluate applications and what admissions officers don't discuss publicly.
Waiting until 11th grade to start is often too late. Parents of students in Grades 7-11 will learn how to guide their children and start building the components of a successful application.
After over two decades of advising students, Adam Nguyen, a graduate of Harvard and Columbia and the founder of Ivy Link, has developed a well-tested method to help countless students gain admissions to their top choice colleges and programs. Using years of data, Adam will share insights on attributes of past successful students, costly mistakes during the admissions process, and key factors that make or break a student's admissions chances. Topics include:
What makes a college application stand out?
Are colleges looking for “well-rounded” students?
What do colleges want to see in the essays?
What can my child do now? When is it too late?
Which is weighed more: grades or test scores?
What are effective recommendation letters and how to obtain them?
How many times should my child take the SAT or ACT? What is a good score?
Should my child take the AP Exams?
A significant portion of the interactive workshop will be devoted to answering parents’ questions.
Attendees are encouraged to submit their questions before the workshop.
